Empowering Artisans Through Ambedkar Hastshilp Vikas Yojana (AHVY) Scheme

In 2007, The Samagrah Foundation (TSF) received a five-year grant under the Ambedkar Hastshilp Vikas Yojana (AHVY) scheme. This initiative aimed to provide training for 32 Self-Help Group (SHG) members and facilitate market linkages for them, with a focus on Chikankari and Zari-Zardozi. TSF organized workshops led by experts, benefiting over 500 artisans, enhancing their skills in design, quality control, color schemes, texture, and more.

As a result of this training, artisans became eligible for small bank loans to establish small business units. TSF also collaborated with the community to support the formation of additional self-help groups and provide verified linkages to microfinance agencies.
